Care Guide
Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal. A little gentle morning sun is welcome, while harsh afternoon sun may scorch the leaves. Brighter light also helps maintain the beautiful variegation.
Water
Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry before watering thoroughly. Avoid leaving the soil consistently wet.
Humidity
Average household humidity is perfectly suitable, although it will happily enjoy additional humidity if available.
Temperature
65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F.
Fertilizer
Feed monthly during spring and summer using a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.
Growth Habit
Upright, branching shrub that gradually develops into a small indoor tree with proper care and occasional pruning.
Pet Safety
Not pet safe. Contains calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept away from curious pets and young children.
