Care Guide
Light
Bright, indirect light is essential. Avoid direct afternoon sun, but provide plenty of filtered light to help maintain healthy growth and vibrant variegation.
Water
Keep the soil lightly moist, allowing only the top inch to dry before watering again. Never allow the plant to sit in standing water.
Humidity
Higher humidity is appreciated. Aim for 60% or greater whenever possible. A humidifier or naturally humid room will help this plant look its best.
Temperature
65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.
Fertilizer
Feed every 3–4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength.
Growth Habit
Compact, upright tropical plant with thick, shield-shaped leaves that continue becoming larger and more dramatic as the plant matures.
Pet Safety
Not pet safe. Like other Alocasias, this plant contains calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept away from pets and young children.
