Care Guide
Light
Bright, indirect light will support healthy growth and help preserve the creamy marbling. It can tolerate somewhat lower light, but its color may become less distinct. Protect the leaves from intense direct sun, which can cause scorching.
Water
Allow the upper portion of the soil to dry before watering thoroughly. Its thick leaves store some moisture, and overwatering is a greater risk than allowing it to become slightly dry between waterings.
Humidity
Comfortable in average household humidity and generally does not require special humidity accommodations.
Temperature
Prefers normal, warm household temperatures. Protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Fertilizer
Feed lightly during spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Little or no fertilizer is needed while growth slows during winter.
Growth Habit
A compact, upright plant with sturdy stems and thick, rounded foliage. Its manageable size makes it especially well suited to desktops, windowsills, small shelves, and plant groupings.
Pet Safety
Considered pet-friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs. Even non-toxic plants are best kept away from pets that enjoy chewing foliage.
